Sales - Many drug companies look to chemists to sell their products. As a chemist, they are able to speak with customers on a technical basis to determine what product would best suit their needs. This position not only requires chemistry knowledge but interpersonal communication skills as well.
Academia - There are many faculty positions for chemists. In addition to teaching, chemists at the collegiate level also work conducting research, writing grant proposals, and publishing scholarly articles in scientific journals.
